needs analysis - A review of a company’s IT needs to determine budgets, procurement, deployment schedules and long-range goals.
netiquette - The use of common sense and good manners on the Internet in e-mail, chat rooms and message boards.
network monitoring - The process of actively monitoring the systems and components that comprise the network in an effort to prevent or minimize the impact of problems and outages.
network operations center - A support organization responsible for the operations, monitoring, security and support of the network.
next available analyst - The process of sending a call to the analyst who becomes available next.
non-ACD calls - Calls that are passed directly to an analyst’s extension.
notification - Communication via a pre-determined method for informing support staff, stakeholders or customers of an incident or problem, the severity of the issue and the owner of the issue to hasten a rapid restoration of service.
